Traveling 6 hours for this follow-up to have Dr. Semel look at my incision for 15 seconds and say looks OK. I had requested a virtual meeting and was told no we can't do that. YIPES!!!
For my first visit with Dr. Simiele, I was extremely impressed
She was patient and explained things very well.
He was called out for an emergency surgery & we were going to be seen by the PA, but he was back from surgery & saw us himself, all without a very long wait time.
The doctor is very good at what he does and he has a very, very good staff. They鈥檙e all very helpful.

My care was exceptional. I just feel the Dr. / Surgeon needs to talk and discuss the pre-op and post op results better. I am very confused as to what was done and why the intial problem was not taken care of.

Dr. Semel can in quick didn鈥檛 explain much and walked out the door. Sometime later a nurse came in and did what the doctor told her to do. It was all rush rush. I understand being busy; but have some kind of compassion for the patient.

Dr Semel is a focused and skilled surgeon.. I have recently had a repair on a leaking Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm stent. Dr Semel did a fine job in stopping the leak in a particularly difficult and precarious area near the kidney arteries.
I would have appreciated if Dr. Semel would have reviewed the test taken on-October 18, 2023 (an ultrasound that indicated Right Lower Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis. I knew the visit was complete as he walked towards the door.

I told him I had pain in both legs. He said he doesn't see any reason by I would have pain in my left leg, as if he didn't believe me. He was dismissive.

As mentioned earlier, he seemed remarkably uninformed about my vascular imaging history and gave opinions based on what I told him rather than my actual medical history. Also, he didn鈥檛 greet me when he came in the room. He didn鈥檛 seem to take the appointment seriously.
