St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to welcome Abigail Hearns, PA, to St. Joseph’s Physicians Primary Care – Fayetteville.

Hearns received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from SUNY Plattsburgh and went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

Abigail has worked as a certified nurse aide at a rehabilitation and nursing center, and as a medication technician and resident assistant in an assisted living facility, both in Plattsburgh. Most recently, she completed clinical rotations in family practice, pediatrics, women’s health, geriatrics, behavioral health, and other disciplines.

“From a young age I have had a very strong influence towards healthcare, and that has never changed. I have always been interested in helping people,” said Abigail. “My undergraduate career taught me the importance of research and developments in science as well as working collaboratively and my Physician Assistant program taught me not only strengths in medicine, but the importance of community. When looking for a job, I looked for a position and people to work with that understood all of this. I look forward to working for a hospital system that offers a high standard of evidence-based medicine while also focusing on better ways to serve the greater Syracuse area."

Abigail is seeing patients at St. Joseph’s Physicians Primary Care located at 4000 Medical Center Drive, Suite 101, Fayetteville, New York 13066. To schedule an appointment, please call: (315) 637-7878.
