St. Joseph’s Health Welcomes Dr. Dorshey Jackson to PCC-West
December 12, 2024
St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to welcome Dorshey Jackson, MD, to Syracuse. Dr. Jackson will join Primary Care Center–West as a Family Medicine physician.
Dr. Jackson is board-certified in Family Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from California State University–Long Beach and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. Dr. Jackson completed his medical residency training at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, where he was trained in a wide range of medical specialties, including addiction medicine, and geriatric and preventative medicine.
Dr. Jackson was a member of Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) which is a community safety net, mobile health center in Palm Springs, California, addressing chronic diseases, acute conditions, preventive medicine, diet, and emotional health.
“So much of my focus as a physician has been to do whatever I can to ensure the highest level of wellness for my patients in the hospital, in medical offices and in the community at large. Whether it’s serving on committees to help create programs and initiatives to reach those goals or volunteering in the community,” said Dr. Jackson. “Spending so much of my life on the west coast, my biggest challenge may likely be adjusting to the cold weather and the snow!”
In his spare time, Dr. Jackson likes to travel, spend time outdoors and go hiking with his wife and children. Some of his interests and hobbies include fitness, reading, movies, DIY projects and kayaking.
Dr. Jackson is seeing patients at St. Joseph’s Health Primary Care—PCC West, located at 321 Gifford St. in Syracuse. Please call 315-703-2600 to schedule an appointment.
