St. Joseph’s Health Names New CMO and CEO of St. Joseph’s Physicians

Syracuse, N.Y. – St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Philip Falcone, MD, MHL, FACS as chief medical officer at St. Joseph’s Health and Julianne Himes, MS, PA-C as chief executive officer at St. Joseph’s Physicians for Medical Group and Provider Services (MGPS). Both professionals are committed to our mission and will help drive growth and expand our continuum of care.
In his new role, Dr. Falcone is leading the medical and clinical team at St. Joseph’s Health, overseeing the implementation of patient care and advising senior leadership on matters impacting patient care and regulatory functions. In her new role, Himes is leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of St. Joseph’s Health Physicians/MGPS.

Dr. Falcone has been with St. Joseph’s Health for almost three decades. His experience ranges from medical and clinical affairs to managerial positions, including more than 20 years of clinical experience as an aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
Most recently, Dr. Falcone served as St. Joseph’s medical director of quality and led the hospital through the many challenges brought on by the global health crisis. Last month,
Dr. Falcone received the Central New York Business Journal’s Excellence in Healthcare - Innovator award for developing a new way to decontaminate medical masks, patient units and operating rooms.

Himes has worked at St. Joseph’s Health for over a decade. She started her tenure as a physician assistant and has continued onto administrative roles where she successfully led multiple projects and operational initiatives. Most recently, Julianne served as the chief operating officer for St. Joseph’s Physicians and oversaw the day-to-day operations and development of the medical group. Prior to that, Julianne was director of clinical operations and ensured all operations and initiatives were aligned with business practices while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.

Dr. Falcone and Himes have successfully transitioned into their new positions.
