UHC Agreement

UPDATE: OCTOBER 11, 2023

St. Joseph’s Health and UnitedHealthcare Reach

Agreement in Contract Talks

St. Joseph’s Health and UnitedHealthcare have reached a new agreement that will reinstate our patients’ ability to access our hospital and the providers they trust and need. We are pleased to have reached a resolution that allows us to serve patients with exceptional health care services both now and into the future.

Our new agreement means that patients covered by an impacted UnitedHealthcare commercial or Medicare Advantage health plan can re-schedule their care at St. Joseph’s Health, effective immediately. The agreement is retroactive to July 1, meaning any services received from St. Joseph’s Health providers and facilities from July 1 to date will be processed as in-network.

The agreement reached between the parties additionally provides a path to bring St. Joseph’s Health back in network for Medicaid and Essential Plan health plans in the near future. However, St. Joseph’s Health has committed to seeing UnitedHealthcare Medicaid and Essential Plan members while we work to finalize the terms of the agreement.
