SYRACUSE, N.Y.— St. Joseph’s Health welcomes Thomas J. Welch II, M.D., to St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute in East Syracuse, N.Y. In his new role, Dr. Welch joins a team of diverse and highly skilled medical staff to provide the highest quality of cardiology care to the community.

Dr. Welch earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Welch completed a residency at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Health, Dr. Welch served as a fellow at the University of Rochester focusing on complex coronary intervention and structural heart interventions.

Dr. Welch is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He specializes in interventional cardiology and is an active member of the American College of Cardiology.
