The Center, located at 4000 Medical Center Drive in the Northeast Medical Center, Fayetteville, boasts the largest and most advanced hyperbaric oxygen treatment facility in the region. Our staff’s certifications include Hyperbaric Registered Nurses and Certification in Hyperbaric Technology. During Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), the patient breathes 100 percent oxygen inside a pressurized environment. This therapy delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream that assists in the wound healing process and fights certain types of infections. HBOT effectively treats osteomyelitis (bone infection), diabetic wounds of the lower extremity, radiation tissue damage, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and crush injuries.

Other treatment methods that may be utilized in a patient's care include:

  • Debridement
  • Total contact casting
  • Biological skin grafts
  • Advanced wound care dressings
  • Compression therapy
  • Nutritional management
  • Management of wound pain
  • Diabetic education

Studies have shown that specialized wound care and HBOT:

  • Accelerates wound healing
